Lauren Hoar is the Digital Executive Producer at WBIR Channel 10 in Knoxville, Tenn.

I joined the WBIR team in June 2017.

Each day, I live for the challenge to bring new, creative, engaging ideas to the station’s social media platforms. I love to looks for ways to give viewers that extra element on their website and incorporate digital content into newscasts.

I spent three years working in Augusta, Ga. at News 12 NBC 26, the CBS and NBC affiliates. My first two years were spent producing newscasts while juggling the ever-growing digital world. I saw the need for a full-time team dedicated to digital and moved into the Digital Executive Producer role for my third year. My most memorable moment in the business was covering the Masters golf tournament as a still photographer for digital platforms and newscasts.

I have received Georgia Associated Press awards for Best Website - TV Division II, First Place (2015, 2016) and a Georgia Association of Broadcaster award for Division AA TV - Best Use Of Digital Platforms for Periscope Incorporated In News.

I graduated from The University of South Carolina in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications and a minor in Spanish. I’m originally from Plymouth, Mass. where my family and many friends still reside.
