Shannon Smith is the 10News Weekend morning anchor and Emmy award-winning reporter for Live at Five at Four.

She joined the 10News team in January 2018 as a multi-skilled journalist, and is happy to be back home in the southeast! Shannon grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, but was born in Brentwood, so she’s made a full circle back to the Volunteer State.

Shannon started her career at KFDA NewsChannel 10 in Amarillo, Texas. As the senior reporter at that CBS affiliate, Shannon reported on a variety of topics, but focused mainly on city government.

She was instrumental in the coverage of the Perryton Fire in 2017, a wildfire that killed 4 people and burned more than 318,000 acres of land in the Texas Panhandle. Shannon also spearheaded continuing coverage of a missing teenager in Canadian, Texas, whose open homicide case she follows to this day.

Shannon graduated from Auburn University in 2015 with a Bachelors degree in journalism and a minor in political science. There she served as the news director of the campus run TV station, Eagle Eye TV.

Now you'll see her covering the fun news, inspiring tales and heartwarming stories as a feature reporter for Live at Five at Four. She's known to clone herself, so watch out.

And if you're an early bird, you'll see her on the anchor desk on weekend mornings.

Shannon is an award-winning dancer, and keeps up with that hobby by taking as many dance classes in Knoxville as she can. You’ll probably catch her spending her free time outside in one of Knoxville’s amazing city parks. She loves exploring East Tennessee, and petting all the dogs she can along the way!
