The Ice Bears, Retropolitan Craft Fair, Winterfest Kickoff and so many more events are coming up this weekend.

Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019

Celebrate Beethoven's 250th anniversary at the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra's Beethoven and the Art of Rhythm. The concert will feature Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. The concert will be held on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. Tickets start at $14.

The third Thursday Food Truck Park is back at 300 W Depot Avenue. There will be plenty of food vendors, live music and a full bar. Vendors open up at 5 p.m. and the music will start at 6 p.m. Pets are also welcomed.

Coming Home is a concert that is bringing Knoxville and Nashville artists together on behalf of refugees in East Tennessee. All the proceeds of the concert will benefit Bridge Refugee Services. The event will be held at the Bijou Theatre and doors for the concert will open at 6:30 p.m. Admission costs $30.

Join the 30th Annual Winterfest Kickoff at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge. Each Year Pigeon Forge creates a winter wonderland for visitors and residents to enjoy during the Winterfest Celebration. Over five million Christmas lights will be shining bright with plenty of holiday shows and activities. The festivities begin at 4 p.m.

Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville is presenting Lights Up 2019 in the Pinnacle at Turkey Creek. The shopping center will be transforming into "Santa's Workshop." Crafts, activities and festive treats will be available. The Cedar Bluff Middle School vocal ensemble, as well as other local groups, will be performing.

The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree and Santa will be at this year's Christmas at Chilhowee. The 60-foot blue spruce is stopping by on its way to Washington, D.C. In addition to seeing the tree, guests can enjoy snacks, train rides, gold activities and more. The event begins at 6 p.m. in Chilhowee Park.

Join Ijams Naturalists as they take the trails at Ijams Nature Center to search for owls in the Owl Prowl. Learn several owl calls and look and listen for owls. The walk begins at 6 p.m. on Friday night and costs $8.

Boyd's Jig and Reel is hosting History in a Bottle Friday night. This bourbon centric dinner and auction benefits the Historic Ramsey House. The historic evening begins at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $65.

The Tennessee Stage Company presents 'HARVEY,' which continues this weekend. The play runs until Nov. 24 at the Broadway Academy of Performing Arts. The play starts at 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Tickets cost $18.

The Knoxville Ice Bears are playing against the Pensacola Ice Flyers this weekend at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. Watch them face off on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and again on Saturday at the same time. Ticket prices start at $11.

The Knoxville Museum of Art is hosting its regular Alive After Five event on Friday at 6 p.m. Jeanine Fuller & The True Funk Souldiers is performing. General admission costs $10.

The 2019 Christmas Lantern Express is back this Saturday and every weekend during this holiday season. The Three Rivers Rambler train rides last about two hours and will include festive decorations, holiday treats, storytime with celebrity readers and of course, Santa. Rides are at 9:45 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Tickets range from $7.50 to $28.50 depending on age.

Hi-Wire Brewery is hosting a seasonal Pop-Up! Market with a variety of local vendors selling arts, crafts and artisanal products. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Small Breed Rescue of East Tennessee. The market will go from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Head to the Island in Pigeon Forge to see the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony with special guests, Paula Deen and country recording duo, The Young Fables and a capella group, Greyscale. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and all festivities and parking are free.

Ijams Nature Center is partnering with the East Tennessee Bluegrass Association for the special event: Bluegrass Jam at Ijams. Music, a beer garden and a food truck will be available. Fire pits will be going on the back patio. Tickets are $5 per person. The event goes from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday marks the last Market Square Farmers' Market of the season. Shop for locally grown produce, fresh meats, and crafts from 9 to 2 p.m. 

For the second year in a row, New2Knox is hosting a Friendsgiving on Saturday. It's free to attend, but make sure to bring a dish to share with all your new friends. The event begins at 2 p.m. at Central Depot. 

Celebrate the holidays at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center on Saturday for the 10th annual Holiday Homecoming from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids can make old fashioned Christmas Tree ornaments, learn how candy is made, and visit with Santa Claus. 

Enjoy outdoor ice skating at Wilderness at the Smokies in Sevierville. On Saturday, proceeds from rink admission go towards Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. It costs $12 to skate. The rink is open until Jan. 5. 

The Karns Branch Library is hosting a used book sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most books are priced at $2 or less.

The Retropolitan Craft Fair brings indie-craft markets to Knoxville twice a year and they will be back this Sunday. The craft fair will be held at The Mill and Mine from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

Ijams Nature Center is hosting a Poinsettia Felted Flower Workshop. Learn the basics of wet felting and make your very own flower. This three-hour class goes from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $45.

Comedian, Heather McMahan is coming to the Bijou Theatre for her Farewell Tour. Doors open at 7 p.m. and ticket prices start at $41.

Bring a friend or two to Corner Lounge in North Knoxville for Bunco on Sunday at 3 p.m. It's free to play the easy-to-follow dice-rolling game.

You can compete or just eat your heart out at the Old City Chili Cook-Off on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. It costs $25 to compete and $10 to travel to the various venues to taste everything.
