Young actors and actresses at Knoxville Children's Theatre are bringing the Junie B. Jones books to life in their latest production. Junie B. Jones Jr. The Musical runs Feb. 21 - March 8. Tickets are $10-$12.

Theatre Knoxville Downtown's latest production, 'Barefoot in the Park' is playing through Mar. 8, 2020. Tickets to the Tony Award-winning play cost $18.

Hamlet is showing at the Ula Love Doughty Carousel Theatre at the University of Tennessee. The Shakespeare classic runs through Mar. 15.

The Picky Chick consignment sale is going on all weekend long at the Knoxville Expo Center on Clinton Highway. On Saturday, many of the items will be marked down to half price.

The K-25 History Center has its grand opening on Thursday. The doors to the new 7,500 square foot facility featuring interactive exhibits and more than 250 original artifacts open at 10:30 a.m.

It’s the fourth and final Friday of February, so Muse Knoxville is hosting its monthly Free Family Night. The museum will be open late on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with no admission cost.

The Broadway musical, ‘Waitress’ is playing at the Tennessee Theatre Friday through Sunday. The story about an expert pie-maker with dreams of getting out of her small town features music by Sara Bareilles.

The Knoxville Ice Bears take on Macon Mayhem on Friday. It’s college night which means beers are $3 and there will be special college night t-shirts for sale.

Zoo Knoxville is welcoming its newest resident, a giant anteater, with some weekend events. On Friday at 4:30 p.m. members of Circle of Friends can meet the new addition and enjoy beer, wine, snacks and activities. On Saturday, annual pass holders can enjoy anteater activities including a giant termite mound at 9 a.m.

The Knoxville Museum of Art’s Alive After Five series is featuring blues musicians. Tickets are sold at the door beginning at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.

Are your kids looking for something to do after school? Cedar Bluff Branch Library hosts Crafternoons on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is hosting free 3D Mammogram events this weekend. The first is Friday at the Knoxville Convention Center and the second is Saturday at the Walmart Supercenter. You can go online to schedule an appointment during several available time slots throughout the day.

The Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge’s annual International Festival is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event features foods, crafts and dancing from cultures around the world. Tickets range from $10 - $12.

Ijams Nature Center is up to some hootenanny this Saturday. Bring the whole family to the nature center on Saturday at 6 p.m. for an event that’s all about owls. There’s even an owl call competition with the winner taking home a special prize. Admission is $10.

The Knoxville Gay Men’s Chorus is bringing a taste of New Orleans to Knoxville with their Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite mask, and there will be jazz music, beads and hurricane drinks. Tickets are $30 at the door and include one drink ticket.

Bring your kids to an easy yoga class at the Howard Pinkston Branch Library on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The event is open to kids ages three to ten years old.

As Tennessee Songwriters Week comes to a close, the Farragut Community Center is hosting a Songwriters Showcase on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Local artists will perform their songs and explain the inspiration behind the music.

Knoxville’s annual Weed Wrangle is happening all around the city. Volunteers are needed for sites like Baker Creek, Ijams Nature Center, and more to help remove invasive plants.

Three Knoxville women are competing in Saturday’s Olympic Marathon Trials in Atlanta. The Long Run on Sutherland Avenue is hosting a viewing party from noon to 3 p.m.  There will be $3 beers available for purchase.

Leap into the world of comics during Leap Day Mini Con at Rothchild Catering and Conference Center on Kingston Pike. Snake Eye Comics is hosting the event that runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be toys, cosplay, dungeons and dragons and more. Admission is $5 cash at the door.

East Tennessee Miniature Horse and Donkey Rescue is hosting its ‘Leapin’ Littles Soup Dinner Fundraiser’ on Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event includes dinner, BINGO and a silent auction at Kinfolk Barn Event Center in Lenoir City. Adult tickets cost $20, but space is limited.

The Smoky Mountain Opry debuts its ninth season on Friday. The live variety show combines music and dance from every genre. Performances are Monday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and a Wednesday matinee at 3 p.m.

Whether you’re getting into bike riding for fitness, transportation or just as a way to enjoy warmer weather, the Blount County Public Library is hosting New Smart Cycling Traffic Skills 101. The workshop is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is hosting a ‘build day’ on Saturday at Halls High School. Volunteers are needed to help cut, sand and assemble wood to make beds for needy children. The event begins at 10 a.m. and usually lasts two to three hours.

The GLOW for Galactosemia 5K and family fun run is Sunday at 3 p.m. There will be glow-in-the-dark face paint, a bounce house, food trucks and more. The race begins at Tyson Park.

BINGO! That’s what you’ll be shouting at Barley’s in Knoxville Sunday night. The pizzeria is hosting two hours of BINGO and a costume contest beginning at 5 p.m. The cover is $20.
