Black Violin plays tonight at the Bijou Theatre

Black Violin blends classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B, and bluegrass music.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — It's not fiddle music or traditional symphony selections. Wednesday night, eclectic sounds will fill the Bijou Theatre in downtown Knoxville.

 Black Violin is the blend of classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B, and bluegrass music. 

The band on stage band features ace turntable whiz DJ SPS and a drummer. 

Black Violin was invited to perform at Bonnaroo and returned to SXSW this year to SRO crowds.

Since starting Black Violin a decade ago Wil Baptiste and Kevin "Kev Marcus" Sylvester have performed an average of 200 shows a year in the United States and around the world.

Black Violin has collaborated with P. Diddy, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Aretha Franklin, and The Eagles.
