KNOXVILLE, Tennessee — Sean Gunn is one of the dozens of celebrities headed to East Tennessee this weekend for Bubba Fest.

The annual convention is being billed as "comic con meets a state fair," which is a first for him.

"I'm actually pretty excited about it. I don't think I've been to a convention yet with a state fair vibe," he told 10News in a Facetime interview. "I'm always eager to look for anything that makes a convention unique. And that makes it pretty enticing."

Gunn plans to meet up with some of his friends at the convention, including Chris Sullivan, who plays Toby in NBC's 'This is Us' and Taserface in 'Guardians of the Galaxy.'

He joked about meeting up with Sullivan in an Instagram post, calling their reunion a "Ravager Hoedown," a nod to their characters in the movie.

"We both play Ravagers and because of the state fair vibe, who doesn't love a hoedown," he said.

He also wants East Tennessee fans to send him recommendations while he is here.

"I want people to give me recommendations about where to go, what to eat, those kind of things, he said "I will post my appearance on Twitter, so if people want to reply with things I should do in East Tennessee, I'm all ears."

Despite all the dancing in the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' films, Gunn said his dancing hasn't really improved.

"I was already such a tremendously great dancer, I don't know if there was any way those movies could have made me better," he said. "If you go back and watch my work on 'Gilmore Girls,' go watch 'A Film by Kirk,' and i think you'll see me topping out. My dancing quality was about as good as it could be."

Gunn said he's recognized about equally for his roles as Kraglin in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and as Kirk in 'Gilmore Girls.'

"I like when couples come up to me and one is a huge 'Guardians' fan and one is a huge 'Gilmore Girls' fan," he said. "I feel like I'm bringing families together in that way."

When it comes to the two separate fan bases, Gunn believes one is more intense than the other.

"In terms of the fervor of the fan base, the 'Gilmore Girls' fans might be even more intense than the MCU fans, which is interesting," he told 10News.

We also asked Gunn the most important question for 'Gilmore Girls' fans: Team Dean, Team Jess or Team Logan?

Gunn knew the answer immediately: Team Logan.

"I don't know why. I think maybe I feel like at the end of the day, Logan treated Rory as an adult more than the other two did," he said.
