It takes more than pixie dust and a nod from Tinkerbell for Peter Pan to fly high above the stage

A professional team provides special equipment and training to life Peter Pan to new heights

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The Appalachian Ballet Company presents Peter Pan this weekend at the Clayton Center for the Arts on the Maryville College campus.

The show runs Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m.

A key part of the performance is Peter Pan's ability to fly. It doesn't happen with pixie dust but with professional rigging.

ZFX Flying Effects set up the equipment in anticipation of the weekend performances. Flying 101 for the dancer and her understudy started Wednesday with stage training Thursday.
