KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — September is Bike Month and East Tennessee has a lot to offer cyclists.
Kickstand Community Bike Shop will host a bicycle safety course, Smart Cycling, this Saturday. The event is from noon to 2:00 pm in the parking lot of the shop.
It's behind 4th United Presbyterian Church at the corner of North Broadway and Glenwood. The parking lot entrance is off of Glenwood.
The class will feature in-class discussion, bike-handling drills in the parking lot, and a short road ride. All participants must have a helmet, mask,and a bicycle that is safe to ride. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and must sign the waiver before the class.
The class also includes a League of American Cyclist Quick Guide Booklet that outlines all of the information you need to ride safely and confidently.
The cost is $15.
