Surfs up! Malibu Factory Smoky Mountain Pro wakeboarding competition kicks off this weekend

Back for the third year in a row, this competition is the third stop for these athletes competing for the 2019 WWA Wakeboard Word Series.

LOUDON, Tenn. — In Loudon County, some of the world's best wakeboarders are preparing to show off their skills on the water. The Malibu Factory Smoky Mountain Pro competition kicks off this weekend.

Back for the third year in a row, this competition is the third stop for these athletes competing for the 2019 WWA Wakeboard Word Series.

A total of $60,000 is up for grabs. It’s the largest amount of prize money seen on Watts Bar Lake.

Pro Women and Men Qualifying races start Friday, July 5th at 10:00am. On Saturday, July 6th both the Women and Men’s semifinals start at 10:30am. The finals are set to follow.

The races will take place at the Malibu Boats Factory in Loudon.
