Trashsquatch is TDOT's anti-litter mascot

Trashsquatch travels the state for TDOT's anti-litter campaign

About 100,000,000 pieces of trash litter Tennessee's roads and The Tennessee Department of Transportation says it costs a lot of money to clean up.

That's why TDOT is taking an anti-litter message directly to students.

Trashsquatch is part of the Nobody Trashes Tennessee (NTT) campaign.

The mascot tours Tennessee to inspire litter prevention. Following the large creature are the Tri Star Rangers, who help their friend navigate the human world and pass out free litter bags and other goodies.

The litter-prevention program is crossing the state with 10-minute presentations at schools and events. Dancing, a short quiz, and litter picking-up techniques are part of the charm of Trash-squatch.

It's the latest anti-litter campaign but certainly not the first. Click here to see a popular public service announcement from the 1970s.
