In the kitchen: Ham and potatoes casserole

Melissa Graves of Donna's Old Town Cafe explained how to make the delicious casserole.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups potatoes
  • 3 cups diced ham
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 cups cheddar (save 1/2 cup to sprinkle on top)
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper

Directions

Combine ham, potatoes and onion in greased casserole dish.

Put milk and butter in medium sauce pan. Stir in flour until it's smooth.

Add milk. Stir in until the mixture thickens. Add cheese, salt and pepper and stir to mix.

Remove from heat and pour over potato mixture. Gently stir.

Bake at 3:50 for 30 to 40 minutes until it's bubbly.
