KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Italian Grilled Cheese
2 slices of sourdough bread
4 slices of provolone
4-5 slices of salami
Sliced pickled banana peppers
Olive and garlic creme fraiche
Oregano and kosher salt sprinkle
Heat the griddle to 350. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Place butter side down on the grill. Put two slices of cheese on each piece of bread. Spread about 2 oz of the olive creme fraiche on top of the cheese. Lay the salami on top of that and add the banana peppers. When the cheese has melted and the bread is golden brown, place the slices together and remove from the grill.
Cut in half and sprinkle with the oregano/kosher salt mix. Garnish with olives..
