Tennessee Kill Down Salad
3 stems green onions washed and sliced thin
1 medium head leaf lettuce (fresh from the garden is best but will take around 4 cups chopped)washed and drain. Put in fridge to crisp.
1/4 cup bacon drippings (or butter butter)
1/4 cup chopped bacon
In a small pan pour your bacon drippings and your onion over medium heat and stir until tender add bacon crumbles.
Pour over crispy lettuce and toss to coat Season to taste with salt and pepper
