Being asked to be apart of a woman's big day is a true honor. And we're not talking about a white dress and veil here.
Gender reveals have become a centerpiece for many women as they go through the wondrous and natural throes of pregnancy.
Naturally, when photographer Saralyn Johnson was asked to capture her very first gender reveal photoshoot, she was more than willing, adding "what an honor it was to be included in such an important and emotional day."
This particular gender reveal has an especially touching back story.
Cassie Lohrey was married to her husband for only a month when he tragically died. Ryan Lohrey was a Hospital Corpsman 1st class and was one of 16 servicemen killed in a plane crash while heading to Arizona for a military training on July 10, 2017. Just three weeks later, Cassie found out she was expecting and that the baby is due March 2018!
Cassie decided the best way to honor her husband was to include her husband's fellow serviceman along with their family and friends. 16 servicemen took part in the reveal and stood by Cassie's side on her big reveal day, which she decided to host on Veterans Day.
"Her home is filled with pictures of her and Ryan and I have no doubt that this sweet baby girl will know just how much her Daddy loves her, even from Heaven," Saralyn said.
Cassie also shared the gender reveal live with her Facebook friends.
Unfortunately, Cassie and the baby girl will be on their own financially and are currently not receiving any added financial benefits, according to the photographer. Ryan's paperwork that included his marriage information had not been updated before his death. To help the mom-to-be and her soon-to-be bundle of joy, Cassie's sister has set up a GoFundMe for extra support.
