The Museum of Appalachia welcomes in the warm spring weather with its annual Sheep Shearing Days on Thursday and Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Guests will get to experience demonstrations of shearing, carding, spinning, weaving, and other ways that pioneers turned fleece into goods.  

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is performing Beethoven’s Ninth as part of its Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series. Showtimes are Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre.

Tom Stoppard’s play "The Real Inspector Hound’" is playing at the Clarence Brown Theatre March 27 through April 14. The play follows two feuding theatre critics attending the premiere of a new murder mystery who find themselves inside a play-within-a-play.

The Dogwood Trails are open, and you can stroll or drive through 80 miles of residential neighborhoods with beautiful blooming flowers and dogwood trees. Farragut is the 2019 featured trail.

"One Slight Hitch" is playing at Theatre Knoxville Downtown April 5 through 21. The play is about a bride-to-be whose uninvited ex-lover shows up on her wedding day and chaos erupts.

The 2019 Spring Pigeon Forge Road Run is Thursday through Saturday at the LeConte Center. Eric Estrada, the star of the NBC Show, ‘Chips,’ will be there meeting with fans.

As part of its 50th-anniversary celebration, The Carpetbag Theatre is performing ‘Swopera,’ a spoken word opera, Thursday through Sunday at the Ula Love Doughty Carousel Theatre on UT’s campus. Tickets are $10 - $20.

Pretentious Glass Company is hosting its second annual spring show, Forms and Flora, to display work from various makers who work with metal, ceramic, wood, macramé, and glass.

Enjoy a night of steel drumming on Thursday in Market Square. The University of Tennessee Steelband Carnival Concert starts at 7 p.m.

The Smoky Mountain Fiber Arts Festival is Friday through Sunday at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center. The festival is free to the public and there will be classes to show visitors how to turn “sheep to shawl.”

James White’s Fort is hosting a free Spring Cocktail Social on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Guests will put on their favorite spring outfits and sip spring cocktails like daiquiris, mint juleps, and mojitos while exploring the gardens.

The Knoxville Ice Bears are competing in the SPHL Challenge Round against Macon Mayhem on Friday night at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Sample wines from various local wineries during Smoky Mountain Wine Weekend in Gatlinburg. The festival features a line-up of food and wine vendors that are set up on the grounds of Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. Tickets start at $25.

UT Opera Theatre is performing Bizet’s Carmen at the Bijou Theatre Friday through Sunday. Tickets are $5 to $20.

The Knoxville Museum of Arts’s Alive After Five series continues Friday at 6 p.m. The Bruce Katz Band is performing. Tickets start at $10.

The University of Tennessee Orange and White spring football game is Saturday at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Knoxville Opera’s annual Rossini Festival is back for its 18th year. Downtown Knoxville will transform into an international Street Fair on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with outdoor food vendors and artisans, and live entertainment.

Help raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital while riding trails at Windrock Park on Saturday during 4-Wheeling For A Cure.

Awaken Coffee and Awaken Old City Church are hosting an Easter Eggstravanganza on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be a scavenger hunt, cookie decorating, games, pictures, and prizes.

Monty Python’s Spamalot, a musical based on the movie, ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail, is playing at the Tennessee Theatre on Saturday and Sunday. Showtimes are Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Giddy Up! The Cowboy Carnival is Saturday from 11 to 2. It's a fundraiser for Hoof and Harness, a therapeutic riding academy that provides free programming for special needs individuals. Tickets are $15 dollars. There will be food and a petting zoo!

The University of Tennessee Arboretum Society’s 52nd Spring Plant Sale is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arboretum in Oak Ridge.

The Water Lantern Festival is Saturday evening at Chilhowee Park. Guests will each get a floating lantern that they can decorate before placing into the lake. Tickets are $40.

The Lonsdale International Food and Crafts Market is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lonsdale Park. Emerald Youth will ‘kick off’ the event with a friendly soccer game.

The Knoxville Breakfast Rotary Club’s 27th Annual Wildflower sale is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rocky Hill Center on Northshore Drive.

The Spring Sprint 5K Road Race and one-mile fun run is Saturday morning at the Springbrook Recreation Center in Blount County. This is the first event of the 2019 Healthy Blount Triple Crown of running, and proceeds benefit the local chapter of Special Olympics.

It’s time for the 24th annual Adult Spelling Bee at the Blount County Library. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday with the competition starting at 10 a.m.

Travel back in time for Vintage Baseball at the Historic Ramsey House on Saturday. It’s free to watch the games between 11 and 5 p.m. The players play by 1864 rules and wear period uniforms.

The City of Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department is hosting an Egg Hunt on Saturday at A.K. Bissel Park at 11 a.m. There will be more than 15,000 candy and prize-filled eggs hidden throughout the park. In the event of rain, the activities will be moved inside the Civic Center gym.

The Fountain City Craft Fair is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fountain City Park. There will be vendors set up to help you find a great gift for Mother’s Day.

Tour two privately-owned Gardens this weekend as part of Dogwood Arts Featured Gardens event. The gardens are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The event is free, but a $5 donation is encouraged. The event was originally scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday, April 13 & 14, but forecasted inclement weather has prompted event organizers to cancel the Sunday portion.

Adara Events & Photography is hosting a sensory-friendly Easter egg hunt on Saturday for children with special needs. Egg hunts will run every 20 minutes starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday and are limited to five children. Tickets are $5.

Sit back and listen to live bluegrass music at the Lenoir Museum at Norris Dam State Park every Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Bluegrass Jam runs April 7 through October 27.

The Knoxville Museum of Art hosts its Second Sunday Art Activity Day from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Children will do a hands-on art activity, and there will be free docent tours.

Bring your kite to fly or buy your own at the 10th Annual Kite Festival in Pearson Springs Park in Maryville on Sunday. The free community event lasts from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
