A Bible is the only item recovered from burning car

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - After a car burst into flames, crews made a remarkable find inside the wreckage. They discovered a bible relatively unharmed.

Witnesses said the car was hit by another car Sunday that kept going on state route 385 in West Tennessee. The vehicle then went off the road and ran into a pole.

Traffic came to a stop on the road, as Good Samaritans pulled over to help rescue the driver, who was pinned against the steering wheel, before the vehicle went up in flames.

"All I could find was a gallon of water, so I went back and wet him so maybe it wouldn’t burn him and I could keep him as moist as possible,” Corey Kilpatrick told WMC Action News 5.

A man eventually ran over with a jack iron and broke through the car window to rescue the driver.

A witness, Anita Irby, caught the incident on camera and can be heard praying throughout the rescue.

She posted her experience to Facebook, writing that she just "saw GOD on 385..."

Her powerful video has since gone viral, being shared almost 49,000 times.
