SC woman with stage 4 breast cancer marries love of her life

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, many of whom are breast cancer survivors, Laurin and Mike pledged their love for each other in a black, white, red and polka dot affair.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - It was a wedding almost too perfect for words.

News19 introduced you to Laurin Long and her fiance, Michael Bank, earlier this month. On March 24, they became husband and wife.

They were married exactly three years to the date of their first date.

Their vows were exchanged at the Tree of Life temple in Columbia and they looked into each other's eyes and said in sickness and in health. And those words held a special meaning.

Laurin is battling stage 4 breast cancer.

She was diagnosed at just 26 years old, and now three years later, the disease has spread to her bones, liver and lungs. But through it all nothing has ever dulled Laurin's smile.

She and Mike met not long after her first diagnosis, and they've been enjoying life every step of the way since then.

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, many of whom are breast cancer survivors, Laurin and Mike pledged their love for each other in a black, white, red and polka dot affair.

For anyone who follows Laurin on social media you know every Wednesday her friends wear polka dots to support all stage four survivors. Laurin lost both of her parents to cancer before she was twenty years old. Her brother David walked her down the aisle.
