Coroner: Driver’s blood alcohol level nearly 4 times legal limit in fatal Ky. I-75 crash

According to the report, 41-year-old Joey Bailey’s blood alcohol level was 0.306, nearly four times the legal limit, when he died.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The coroner’s report is in for the man accused of driving the wrong way on Interstate 75, killing a family of five from Michigan.

According to the report, 41-year-old Joey Bailey’s blood alcohol level was 0.306, nearly four times the legal limit, when he died.

Bailey drove on the wrong side of I-75 for several miles the morning of Jan. 6 before colliding with an SUV carrying the Abbas family. They were on their way back home after vacationing in Florida.

The family’s SUV caught on fire and all five of them were killed.

Bailey was also killed in the accident.
