$500 reward offered for information about bear shot in Campbell County

Wildlife officers discovered a dead male bear and are looking for information

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. — On May 1, a black bear was found shot to death outside a convenience center in Campbell County .

On Saturday night, The Pine Mountain Longbeards Chapter of the NWTF-Tennessee announced they would offer a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for killing the bear.  

Officers from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency have been asking for information after they found a dead black bear.

According to a post on their Facebook page, TWRA Wildlife Officer Brenden Marlow responded to a call about a dead bear on May 1. 

The black bear was found at the White Oak convenience center on Davis Creek Road in Campbell County.

Officers examined the animal and determined the 400 pound bear had been shot with a large caliber firearm. They collected shell casings from the scene.
