Joe Clyde Daniels' mother admits she was present when the boy was killed, court documents state

Krystal Daniels was booked into the Dickson County jail on $1 million bond, according to a TBI news release.

The mother of a Dickson County boy with autism, whose father told police he beat him to death, told authorities she was there when her husband killed her son.

According to court documents released Tuesday morning, 27-year-old Krystal Nicole Daniels admitted she was present at the home when Joseph Ray Daniels "intentionally caused the death of their son, Joe Clyde Daniels, who was 5-years-old at the time of his death."

"Krystal Daniels failed to report the abuse and resulting homicide" of her son while she was aware of the injury inflicted to him at the hands of her husband and was aware that he disposed of her son's body, the affidavit reads.

"Krystal Daniels failed to report the injuries, abuse, and/or homicide despite multiple opportunities. Krystal Daniels took active steps to obfuscate the abuse and homicide of Joe Clyde Daniels."

Missing 5-year-old Joseph Daniels from Dickson

Authorities with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation charged the mother on Monday night.

She is charged with one count of aggravated child neglect or endangerment and is being held at the Dickson County Jail on $1 million bond.

The boy's father, Joseph Ray Daniels, confessed to investigators that he beat the boy to death, according to court documents released Monday. He faces a charge of criminal homicide and was also being held in the Dickson County Jail on $1 million bond.
