The case of Joe Clyde Daniels' death took another turn Monday night with the arrest of the 5-year-old's mother on charges of aggravated child neglect or endangerment.

Krystal Daniels was booked into the Dickson County jail on $1 million bond, according to a TBI news release.

The boy's father, Joseph Ray Daniels, confessed to investigators that he beat the boy to death sometime during the night of April 3 or 4, according to court documents released Monday. Authorities arrested him on April 7 and he was also being held in the Dickson County jail on $1 million bond with one count of criminal homicide.

The boy's body has still not been found. Joseph Ray Daniels allegedly told authorities he put Joe Clyde's body in the trunk of his car and disposed of the remains in a "remote area" after killing him on or around last Wednesday.
