KPD searching for suspects in drive-by shooting that hospitalized 2 in East Knoxville

Police are investigating a shooting in East Knoxville, saying the victims have what appear to be non-life threatening wounds.

The Knoxville Police Department has identified the victims of a shooting in East Knoxville Monday morning.

The shooting happened at a home on South Beaman Street less than a mile south of Chilhowee Park and Zoo Knoxville around 10:54 a.m. Monday.

According to KPD, Abraham Dudley, 36, and Billy Williams, 37, were mowing the yard when the shooting suspect or suspects drove east on Sunset Avenue and started shooting at them.

KPD said the two men had what appeared to be non-life threatening wounds. One man was shot in the arm and the other was shot in the mouth. Both are being treated at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

According to KPD, a witness said an older model gold colored Sedan heading east on Sunset Avenue pulled up, and the occupants began shooting out of the car.

Police said they are still searching for the suspects in the car.
