(WBIR - KNOXVILLE) Investigators say a 15-year-old was shot while several kids were playing with a gun.
Jawara Scruggs was shot in the leg while sitting in his bedroom with friends early Sunday morning.
A spokesperson for the Knoxville Police Department says Scruggs is being "uncooperative" with investigators.
No charges have been filed at this time.
Knoxville Police are investigating a shooting in east Knoxville that sent a 15-year-old to the hospital, according to a release.
Investigators say a call came in early Sunday morning at 12:48 a.m. that a black male, 15, had been shot in the leg. It happened at 417 S. Hembree St.
The victim told police he was sitting in his bedroom with friends when he heard a loud pop. He then felt pain in his upper leg.
It is not clear if he was intentionally shot, and police haven't found a weapon.
The injury appears to be non-life threatening, and the victim was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
