A 37-year-old Crossville man was being held Monday in the death over the weekend of his aunt, according to the TBI.
Authorities identified the man as Stacey D. Austin. He's alleged to have killed 55-year-old Teresa F. Austin of Sparta.
According to a TBI news release, Cumberland County Sheriff's Office deputies found Teresa Austin's body Sunday in the front yard of her home in the 300 block of Neverfail Road.
At the request of Cumberland County prosecutors, the TBI joined the investigation, which led to Stacey Austin.
Stacey Austin faces charges of voluntary manslaughter and attempted evidence tampering.
He was being held in lieu of $1 million bond in the Cumberland County Jail.
