Man wanted for murder in Florida arrested in Knoxville

The man was identified as Joseph Miranda, 36, who was wanted for first degree murder. He will be extradited back to Florida to face those charges.

Knoxville — A man wanted for murder in Florida was arrested in Knoxville on Friday.

Officers with the Knox County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations were doing surveillance at a hotel on Merchants Drive when they spotted a suspicious man getting into a vehicle with two women.

The officers followed the car and pulled it over. The man jumped out and ran, but was arrested after a foot pursuit.

The man was identified as Joseph Miranda, 36, who was wanted for first degree murder. He will be extradited back to Florida to face those charges.

Charges could be placed against the two women who were in the car with Miranda.
