Police are investigating after a man was shot in the torso Wednesday night in South Knoxville.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers arrived at a residence at 154 West Moody Avenueto investigate a reported shooting and discovered 31-year-old Ray Loveday from Knoxville had a gunshot wound in his torso.
Police said the crime scene 'smelled strongly of marijuana' and had other signs of drug activity. Police interviewed approximately 15 family and friends that knew the victim, and said all denied knowing the victim's phone number or the name of his brother who was apparently a witness to the shooting and could help solve the investigation.
No suspects have been identified. KPD said the investigation continues.
