As the end of summer quickly approaches, here is when each East Tennessee school district begins classes.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The end of summer vacation is quickly approaching and parents are preparing to send their children back to school. Here's when each school district starts classes.

Alcoa City Schools

  • Classes begin/staggered start: July 18
  • First day of school: July 22

Anderson County Schools

  • Classes begin/staggered start: Aug. 8
  • Regular school schedule beings: Aug. 11 

Athens City Schools

  • Classes begin, registration (abbreviated day): July 28
  • Second day of school (full day): Aug. 2 

Bell County, KY 

  • First day of school: Aug. 3

Blount County Schools

  • First day of school/staggered start: Aug. 1 (Last name A-K)
  • Aug. 2: Last name L-Z
  • Aug. 3: All students
  • Students with disabilities may attend both staggered attendance days
  • Kindergarten students will have full staggered days from Monday, Aug. 1 through Thursday, Aug. 11. All kindergarten students will attend beginning Friday, Aug. 12.
  • The Friends program will be available for students on Aug. 1 and 2.

Campbell County Schools

  • Registration day (3.5 hours): Aug. 8
  • First full day of school: Aug. 9

Claiborne County Schools

  • First day of school: Aug. 8

Clinton City Schools

  • First day of school (dismissal at 11:30): Aug. 5
