Dolly's Imagination Library delivers NC's millionth book

The program has been delivering books to children 5 and under since 1995.

Big news for Dolly Parton's brain child. 

The Imagination Library announced today that it delivered North Carolina's millionth book in December. 

The program has been delivering books to children 5 and under since 1995.

According to the programs website, "Dolly’s vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month."

It now sends more than 1 million books out each month worldwide. 

Dolly's Imagination Library was also featured in a University of Tennessee student documentary called "100 Million Stories," as she donated the Imagination Library's 100 millionth book to the Library of Congress.
