The Tennessee Lottery and WBIR honored some of the best teachers in the area on Thursday night.
The “Educator of the Week” banquet honored hardworking educators at Cherokee County Club.
The teachers invited worked hard throughout the year to help their students achieve their secondary education goals.
WBIR and the Tennessee Lottery, along with other educators, team up to select the teachers of the week in the Knoxville area.
Organizers of Thursday’s event said those selected have quite the resume.
“That wouldn’t be possible without those teacher we are honoring here tonight,” said Rebecca Hargrove, the president of the Tennessee Lottery Association. “So from the very beginning WBIR and the lottery teamed up to honor those terrific teachers in the Knoxville area.
WBIR’s general manager Jeff Lee and anchor Beth Haynes also spoke at the event.
