KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — We are committed to getting you and your family to school safely this year. Our 10News team is working to track COVID-19 cases in school districts across East Tennessee. 

10News will regularly update COVID-19 case numbers for a selection of districts across East Tennessee below.

These cases do not indicate whether staff or students contracted the coronavirus at school or in the community at large. Bookmark this page! It will be updated regularly.

This story will also be updated with any school closings as a result of COVID-19 illnesses. The case counts below are as reported to the Tennessee Department of Education, unless otherwise indicated.

Scott County Schools

According to Scott County Schools, Scott High School will move to virtual for the remainder of the week due to the high number of staff and students on quarantine and the lack of substitutes available. For more information, click here.

Officials also announced that the Huntsville Elementary School would move to virtual learning for the rest of the week and next week, with students returning to school in person on Sept. 27. Student meals for lunch will be available to pick up daily, and teachers will contact parents about student work. State records said that 52% of students were in quarantine, and 24% of staff were in quarantine.

They said that Hunstville Middle School would also move to virtual learning starting Sept. 20 through Friday, Sept. 24. Students who do not log in or complete their work will receive an unexcused absence, and meals for lunch will be available for students to pick up. Parents must call the school before 9 a.m. to order lunch. Around 63% of students are in quarantine or isolation, and 64% of teachers and staff are in quarantine.
