KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said a 20-year-old shooting victim was located at Uptown Bar & Grill - near the University of Tennessee campus - around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
KPD said there is no evidence that the shooting occurred at the bar. Police said they were flagged down in the area of 1912 Cumberland Ave. for a man who had been shot in the leg.
According to police, the victim was taken to UT Medical Center with minor injuries.
Around 1 a.m. Saturday, the University of Tennessee Police Department warned students of reports of gunshots near Uptown Bar & Grill. About 10 minutes later, the university said the situation was under control and that students could resume normal activities.
Police said no suspects have been identified.
