BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — More than a dozen vehicles were damaged by a fire at a salvage lot in Blount County.

According to county fire officials, a call came into 911 just after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday that six cars were on fire at the lot located on South Carver Road at S. Long Hollow Road.

By the time firefighters got the fire out, 18 cars had burned. No buildings were damaged and no injuries were reported.

Dispatchers said Highway 321 was shut down in both directions before the fire was out. You could see black smoke rising from the lot for miles.

No word yet on what started the fire.
