KINGSPORT — Multiple agencies are searching for a teen with autism who wandered away from his home Monday evening.

Austin Hurd, 16, was last seen by his family in the Cooks Valley Area of Kingsport around 7:00 PM. He was last seen wearing black gym pants with a red stripe, an orange shirt, and a red/black thin jacket, according to a press release.

He is 5'3 and weighs 132 pounds, and has blue eyes and reddish blonde hair.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Warriors Path Volunteer Fire Department, Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department, Sullivan County EMS, and the Kingsport Lifesaving Crew are actively searching for Hurd at this time.

The Reverse 911 system has been used to send out a message to the surrounding area in an effort to have residents notify the agency should they see Austin.
