Thornton and his band played a show in May 2017 at The Island in Pigeon Forge. They've also played shows in 2015 and 2017 at Cotton Eyed Joe in West Knox County.
Thornton told 10News last year he enjoyed the region because people are so friendly and the area is so scenic.
Thornton has received an Academy Award and a Golden Globe in his career.
Second Harvest Executive Director Elaine Streno said in a news release the concerts benefit Second Harvest but also will show off the covered and tiered amphitheater, a legacy of the 1984 World's Fair that's little used.
You'll be able to eat and drink at the site on concert nights beginning at 5:30 p.m. Shows will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Local talent also may open some of the shows. No local band will open for the first show, according to Savannah Fielder of Second Harvest.
Second Harvest collects and distributes food to thousands of East Tennesseans every month.
