Buster the longhorn steer dies at Little Ponderosa Zoo

The zoo says Buster long out lived his life expectancy. Most longhorn steers make it to about 14 years old. Buster was 34.

CLINTON, Tenn. — The Little Ponderosa Zoo is mourning the loss of a longtime resident.

Buster the longhorn steer died at the rescue zoo in Clinton. He was the mascot for Anderson County High School football games and appeared in TV shows and music videos.

His work took him all over the country, which was no easy feat since he weighed about a ton!

Buster is now buried on Little Ponderosa's property.

"We'll erect a monument very soon. He's part of our family here. Gone today, but he'll never be forgotten," said zoo founder James Cox.
