Hundreds of pets found new homes during Saturday's Clear the Shelters event.

10News worked with animal shelters across the East Tennessee area to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide push to encourage pet adoption. The fourth annual adoption drive raised awareness about the importance of pet adoption, and the overcrowding issues that local animal shelters typically experience in the summer because of spring litters.

As of 5 a.m. Monday, at least 184 animals had been adopted.
