The little girl who was most seriously hurt when the and two others fell from a Ferris wheel at the Greene County fair is improving, and getting some well wishes from country music superstars.
6-year-old Briley Jae Reynolds has been upgraded at the hospital to serious but stable condition, according to Niswonger Children’s Hospital officials.
Her 10-year-old sister Kayla and a 16-year-old friend were treated and released from the hospital. All three fell 35-40 feet when a mechanical failure caused the car they were riding in to tip, spilling them out.
As Briley recuperates in the hospital, her mother, Kimmee Reynolds, has been sharing updates on the little girl on her Facebook page, and she had a really exciting one on Monday.
Briley and Kayla got a special gift from The Band Perry, the country music sibling trio who are from Greeneville, and a Facetime conversation!
Kimmee posted the special moment on her Facebook page on Monday. You can hear Kimberly, Perry tell the girls they heard about the accident while they were on their way to Rio for the Olympics, and were thinking about them the whole time.
The group went shopping and bought the girls all kinds of Olympic gear and sent it to them.
Briley offers a sweet, shy "thank you" to the group, as Kimberly and her brothers, Reid and Neil, ask the girls questions about everything from school to hospital food. The band promises to come see them when they get home and says they will keep praying for them.
