Knox County issues a burn ban for Monday; no burn permits to be issued in other East TN counties

Due to dry fuels, dry air and breezy winds, burning is banned in Knox County for Monday, March 28.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A burn ban has now been issued for Knox County.

The ban comes due to dry fuels, dry air and breezy winds. Under these conditions, fires can get out of control and spread quickly.

The burn ban includes the use of grills and fire pits.

Open burning has be banned today in Knox County by Air Quality Management. This is due to predicted high winds and low relative humidity. Please no open burning today.

Burn permits are not being issued in East Tennessee today.
