Free concert series start Friday at Fountain City Park

Enjoy free concerts this summer at Fountain City Park in Knoxville.

The Fountain City Lions Club will be hosting Concerts in the Park starting in May. The concert series will be every second Friday through August.

The dates of the four free concerts are May 11, June 8, July 13 and August 10 starting at 6 p.m.

The concerts will have food venders and the club is looking for food trucks, crafts and farmers market booths for the concerts.

This year's musical acts are:

May 11 – Grassically Trained, a bluegrass band from Corryton, sponsored by Penny Kleinschmidt State Farm.

June 8 – The Tennessee Sons country music band from Knoxville, sponsored by Fountain City Jewelers.

July 13, Karen Reynolds, a Fountain City native performing Americana music, sponsored by Knox Native Real Estate.

August 10, Candice McQueen with “folked-up acoustic rock” from Knoxville, sponsored by Knox County Commissioner Michele Carringer.

The shows go on rain or shine.
