KCSO: Deputies charge man with aggravated kidnapping, rape

Knox County Sheriff's Office deputies charged a man accused of assaulting and kidnapping a woman he had dated for a week, according to KCSO.

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — Knox County Sheriff's Office deputies charged a man accused of assaulting, kidnapping and raping a woman he had dated for a week, according to a release from KCSO.

Deputies say 40-year-old Jason Copley had picked up a woman he dated for a week and took her to his home and assaulted her.

The woman says he took her cellphone and refused to let her leave, according to the release from KCSO. She says he showed her his gun and hit her multiple times at his home, according to the release.

Deputies charged Copley with aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, rape and two counts of felony possession of a firearm.

Copley's been placed in jail with a $250,000 bond.
