Knox County Schools closed on Jan. 17 for snow

Several school districts and businesses announced closures for Jan. 17 following a round of winter weather.

Knox County Schools were closed again Wednesday, Jan. 17 due to snow and cold temperatures.

Several school districts and businesses in East Tennessee were also closed on Jan. 16 in anticipation of winter weather.

Blount and Anderson County Schools also decided to close Wednesday, Jan. 16.

The following Knox County government offices were also closed:

• County Mayor's Office and all office reporting to the mayor, including the Knox County Health Department, Knox County Public Library, Knox County Senior Centers, Knox County Convenience & Recycling Centers and Knox County Veterans Service.

• County Clerk - Downtown and all satellite offices

• Trustee - Downtown and all satellite office

• District Attorney General's office

• Register of Deeds

• Property Assessor

• Circuit Court Clerk, Civil Sessions Court Clerk and Juvenile Court Clerk

• Law Department

• County Commission office

• Knox County Internal Audit

• Knox County Election Commission
