Knoxville man faces trial for December crash that killed 15-year-old

27-year-old Justin Ownby faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, for the Millertown Pike crash. Deputies say alcohol was a factor.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville man faces charges for a crash that killed a 15-year-old and injured three others on Millertown Pike in December.

27-year-old Justin Ownby is charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway.

He will be arraigned June 19th.

KCSO said it happened December 22nd around 9 p.m. on the 6600 block of Millertown Pike. Deputies later said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Deputies found two pickup trucks. They said one of them was engulfed in flames and the other truck had four passengers. One of the passengers was dead when they got there.

That passenger was 15-year-old Jordan D. Moyers.

The other passengers and the drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment, according to KCSO.
