KPD identifies motorcyclist killed in Chapman Highway head-on crash

The name of a motorcyclist killed after an accident on Chapman Highway over the weekend has been released.

Police said Michael Lawson, of Seymour, died when his 2004 Honda CBR hit another vehicle head on around 11:23 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the accident happened near the 6300 block of Chapman Highway.

According to the release, Lawson was driving northbound on Chapman Highway in the left lane when he entered the southbound lane and hit another vehicle head-on.

The drivers of the other two vehicles have been identified as Amy Hill, driving a 2014 Nissan Altima, of Corryton and Jamie Hutchinson, driving a 2005 Honda, of Sevierville.
