A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday morning on E. Summit Hill Drive in front of the Weigel's, according to Knoxville Police.
Investigators said the victim was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The victim is believed to have stepped off the sidewalk and in front of a vehicle. The vehicle hit the victim and then pulled into the Weigel's parking lot for help, according to KPD.
While the victim was laying in the roadway, he was reportedly struck by another vehicle. KPD said the second vehicle also pulled into the parking lot.
The victim's condition remains critical.
The investigator is ongoing.
