THP: Knoxville woman killed after walking in front of a truck on I-75 in Loudon Co.

Early Monday morning, I-75 south near Sugarlimb Road was shutdown as LCSO deputies and THP troopers worked the incident.

LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. — A Knoxville woman died after being hit by a pickup truck on I-75 Monday morning, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and THP responded to the crash shortly after 4 a.m. Monday on I-75 Southbound at mile marker 74. The interstate was closed as authorities worked the incident, and LCSO diverted southbound traffic at the Sugarlimb Road exit.

According to the THP crash report, the 42-year-old woman was seen standing in the middle area of the southbound lanes of I-75. THP said the woman then walked into the right lane, where she was hit by the pick-up truck.
