Little Ponderosa Zoo announces bluegrass show, recovery and clean-up efforts

The Little Ponderosa Zoo announced rebuilding and recovery efforts Sunday afternoon, almost one week after its deadly barn fire.

Officials at the Little Ponderosa Zoo announced Sunday afternoon that they'll begin clean-up efforts tomorrow at 8 a.m.

That's after a barn fire that killed more than 90 animals last Monday. This week has been a difficult one for the zoo as it has been dealing with the heartbreak and loss of so many animals. Not only did they lose many animals, but they also ended up losing a lot of supplies to the fire.

Parts of the zoo will reopen to guests on December 30.

Little Ponderosa is still asking for donations to help with things such as heating costs as temperatures continue growing more frigid. The zoo's website has more information on how to donate, and what is needed.

Officials say they are also looking for someone to help design a new barn at the Little Ponderosa.

A bluegrass festival fundraiser event will also be held January 20 at 7 p.m. to benefit the Little Ponderosa Zoo. Admission will be free and will be hosted at 205 Main Street in Clinton.
