(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Friends and family gathered Saturday to say goodbye to a young woman killed in last week’s Waffle House shooting.
A celebration of life ceremony was held at noon for 21-year-old DeEbony Groves. Loved ones filled the First Baptist Church in Gallatin to honor her memory.
Groves was one of four people fatally wounded when a gunman opened fire at the Waffle House on Murfreesboro Pike last Sunday.
She was just weeks away from earning a degree from Belmont University.
Her mother will attend the graduation ceremony on May 5 and accept a posthumous degree on her daughter’s behalf.
