Maryville woman, 19, dies after rollover crash on Mint Road overnight

Lindy M. Wright, 19, of Cavet Drive, Maryville, was pronounced dead at University of Tennessee Medical Center early Friday, according to Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong.

A 19-year-old woman died Friday morning after being ejected from her car during a crash Thursday night.

Lindy M. Wright, 19, of Cavet Drive, Maryville, was pronounced dead at University of Tennessee Medical Center early Friday, according to Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an accident on Mint Road near Carpenters Grade Road.

The sheriff's office accident reconstructionists determined Wright was traveling north on Mint Road in a 2005 Honda Civic when she lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left curve.

Her vehicle crossed over and left the roadway on the left side. The car then spun around and struck an embankment backwards, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators believe the momentum caused the vehicle to spin and strike the embankment again and roll over. After that, Wright was ejected from the vehicle and landed approximately 15 feet away.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office said she was not wearing a seatbelt, and the airbags in the vehicle did not deploy. The Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the accident.

Wright is the younger sister of "The Young Fables" singer Laurel Wright. The group posted to their Facebook page Friday morning with a link to a GoFundMe for funeral expenses.

"I have no words. I am going to miss my sister so much. I know we have asked for a lot in the past but if you could share/ donate, we could be so grateful. Love you guys. Sorry if we disappear from social media for a minute," the post said.
