A military plane had to make an unplanned landing at McGhee Tyson Airport Friday morning.

At around 12 p.m. Friday, an Air Force C-17 landed at McGhee Tyson Airport.

A C-17 Globemaster 3 from the 315th Airlift Wing on a routine mission out of JBC experienced a pressurization issue and made an emergency landing at TYS, according to Major Wayne Capps Chief Public Affairs Officer for the 315th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston.

There were no injuries, but ambulances were called out an abundance of caution.

Immediately after landing, airport crash trucks and 3 AMR ambulances could be seen following the aircraft to a corner of the airport where they were standing by.

It remains unclear how many crew members were on board. They were Air Force Reservists, according to Major Capps.

The incident is under investigation. A maintenance crew will be sent to inspect the aircraft.
