With tears in their eyes and love in their hearts, a group of East Tennessee families welcomed their children home on a cold, sunny day in January 2010.
The children had been living in an orphanage in Haiti when the devastating earthquake of 2010 struck. The 7.0 magnitude quake killed well over 100,000 men, women and children.
The boys and girls' adoptions were underway before the natural disaster struck, but their families worried the confusion of the disaster would halt and maybe even end the process. However, with help from Whitestone Church and several other East Tennessee groups, the adoptions were fast-tracked and the children came home to East Tennessee.
The day the boys and girls met their new families is day they'll never forget and remains one of your Straight from the Heart Moments.
